Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Vere is a product of Vere Technologies LLC, a company based in Armonk, New York. Vere is a voluntary digital conscience layer — a tool that helps users pause and reflect before acting on digital impulse. The person you can contact with any privacy question is Vinny, the founder. 2. What data Vere collects

Vere collects almost nothing. Specifically:

• Website URLs you choose to watch. You select these yourself. They are stored locally on your device using Chrome's local storage API. They are never transmitted to any server.
• Your personal messages. The conscience messages you write for yourself. Stored locally on your device only. Never read, processed, or transmitted by Vere.
• Behavioral metadata. Counts of how many times you visited a watched site, how many times you paused or continued, and streak data. Stored locally on your device. Never transmitted anywhere.

Vere does not collect: your name, email address, location, IP address, browser history outside watched sites, keystrokes, content of messages or emails, photos, contacts, or any other personal information.

3. Where your data lives

All data created by Vere lives exclusively on your device using Chrome's local extension storage. There is no Vere server, database, or cloud storage that receives or holds your information. Vere Technologies LLC has no technical ability to access your personal messages, watched sites list, or behavioral data — because none of it ever leaves your device.

4. What permissions Vere requests and why

• tabs / activeTab: Required to detect when you navigate to a website you've chosen to watch, so Vere can show your pause screen. Vere reads the URL only — not the content of the page, not anything you type, not anything you do on the page.
• storage: Required to save your personal messages, watched sites list, and streak data locally on your device.
• webNavigation: Required to detect navigation events so Vere can intervene at the right moment before a page loads.

Vere requests only the permissions it needs to function. No additional permissions are requested or used.

5. Data sharing

Vere does not share your data with anyone. Ever. Because there is no data collected on our end, there is nothing to share. Vere does not use advertising networks, analytics platforms, or third-party tracking of any kind.

6. Data deletion

To delete all Vere data: uninstall the Chrome extension. This permanently removes all locally stored data including your watched sites, personal messages, and behavioral history. There is nothing on any server to delete because nothing was ever stored there.

You can also clear individual data within the Vere extension settings at any time.

7. Children

Vere is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you are under 13, please do not use Vere without a parent or guardian.

8. Changes to this policy

If we ever make a meaningful change to how Vere handles data, we will update this policy and note the effective date at the top. The current version will always be available at getvere.app/privacy.
